Question
hello mr dunton, how are you? my name is akeem and i have a question about the 400 meter run. i am a 12th grader @ chichester high school and i run the 400 meter. my personal best is a 52 flat. i was wondering what can i do to bring that to atleast 50 point. another question i have is how should i run the 400 meter in indoors? i normally perform well in the 400 outdoors but i cant get the same results indoors. please help me. thank you in advance for your time.

Answer
Akeem,
No one runs as fast indoors as they do outdoors. The shorter the track, the slower you will run. Running the turns is what slows you down. Practice running nothing but around the turns. Run one as fast as you can then walk the straight and run another turn. Do at least six turns. Do this on a regular basis.
