Question
Hi, I want to know what kinds of food i should eat before a race as well as throughout the season. I am running for college and i want to get better. Also i want to know how to most effectively increase my speed. thanks!

Answer
Amber,
You should eat what you normally eat. Do not eat for four hours before practice or a race. You should eat a banana every day. You can eat a banana an hour before practice or a race. Make sure that you are well hydrated before practice or a meet. If it is a long practice, drink some water during the session. To help you increase your speed, I need to know your event(s).
