Question Hey, back in my senior year of high school(I was 16 by the
way) I used to run 11.7 in 100m and 22.4 in 200m. I'm now 19
a junior in college(I know time flies), I haven't done
anything athletic between by senior year and now. I was
thinking of trying out for the track team, I was 6ft and a
140 something pounds back then, but I'm now 160 pounds and
I've probably added an inch or 2 to my height. So I'm
basically asking do I need to lose some weight to get back
into shape? Plus what's a good training regiment to get me
back into shape considering I'm so out of it? Also I used to
have really bad stamina back then
Answer Hello Toks,
Your weigt depends on how much body fat you have. Your training regiment would depend on what event you plan on running. If it is the sprints then you will need to start with some stamina training such as miles and 600's and sorts, but slow and easy. Build up your base and fitness slow and easy and then you can get into more specific training. I hope this helps!
