Track & Field/400 meter in college

Question
I have been running the 200 in high school over the last 4 years. This year I ran a best of 23.47. Next year I am going to be running at a division 2 college. I talked to the coach and he says I will most likely be running the 400 there. I have only run 1 400 the past year and it was in a relay, with a split of 52 flat. During the race, I felt I should be running faster, but I couldn't. What are some good ways that I can train for the 400 to build up my endurance and speed?

Answer
