Question
Im not sure if you have any knowledge in this area but i thought I should ask anyway. I am a distants runner ,and i hear all the stuff about how a good distants runner inherits those traights geneticaly. But in my case im a pretty big guy not the typical ,frame of a distints runner. I usually run with the leader pack and none of those guys are any where near my size. When I asked my coach about this he said that my ability to keep up with the leaders might have to do with my oxygen intake while im running or something like that. But my question is why would some one like me with the frame of a sprinter be a good distants runner?

Answer
Hello Corey,
EVeryone is different. THis means everyone has a different body type. Guys who are bigger can run well. Most of the Australian and British greats were bigger than normal. As long as you are not carrying extra fat and extra muscle you should be fine. If you just naturally have a bigger frame then do not worry about it. To become a good distance runner, you must do what all good distance runners do.........YOu must train properly, consistently, for an extended period of time, and most of all. YOU MUST NEVER,NEVER,EVER QUIT!
You are GOD'S Creation. You can do anyting that you are willing to work hard and accomplish!
