Track & Field - should i try it again? if yes how.

Expert: Byron Collyer - 9/21/2009

Question
I used to be (like over 15 years ago) a shot put thrower and I was good at it but most important i used to love it.  the last time I competed was June of 1991, my personal best was 10.05m, but with time and the rest I grew old and I put a lot of weight on, and i will love to do it again (I know I'm not 16 anymore) but I don't know how to start, can you help?

Answer
Don't see why not-there are throwers in their 60's still competing. I probably wouldn't be of much help delivering little tid-bits via email. I'd suggest getting in touch with a local track club and finding out where there's a throws coach. A Google search should turn up a few clubs in your area.

hope this helps.
