Question
Hi,
I do shot put also, and I'm a freshman in high school too. Do have any tips on how much you should practice a week before a meet, and what to do about injuries? Thanks!

p.s. what's your best put?

Answer
Hi Sup!?!
Ok tips...well hers my Scheduel

If I have a Meet on Friday..
Mon-weight training, technique throwing
Tues- repeat
Wen- Quickness (springing 100's)Jumps (we have 2-3 ft high hurdles those work swell)
Thur- limit yourself to 6 throws. Quickness, and stretch STRETCH STRETCH!

Injuries- if its really bad and the doc says stay off. STAY OFF. If its one that just requires more stretching and retraining of that muscle, take a week or 2 and do it. If there are meets that week I would stay away from full technique throws.

My best throw?- 33ft(practice) 29'11 1/2 (contest) I get super nervous. If you have anytips for that feel free to e-mail me!
