Question The rocker arm rail is broken in the center of the middle stand is this common,i was wondering if i put another pin in the front rocker stand if it would last a while or would i have more problems later.i have found another complete rail and rocker arms for a IH 444 are they the same?thanks freddie
Answer Hello,
According to the parts diagram, the rocker arm shaft is a 2 piece design and is joined in the center, so I don't think it's broken. If the shaft is not staying in place, there's something else wrong, either a stand or a pin not holding it in place. I don't know if a 444 has the same engine or not, so I don't know if it would fit. You can go to: https://webparts.pvassociates.net/cnh/main.php
to look up parts and see a diagram of how it's assembled. Type in your model, and go to the engine section, then search for valve mechanism. You will see the shaft illustrated as being in 2 pieces.
