Question if i was to get the full operation and a penis what is the biggest size i can get and if i were to choose to be a gay man am i able to have sex with my partner
Answer Dear David:
The answers to your questions are largely dependent on what kind of surgery you plan to have. There are two options: phalloplasty and metaoidioplasty (also spelled metoidioplasty).
Phalloplasty:
There are doctors who will go substantially larger than what would be reasonable for your height, weight, etc. They should be avoided at all costs as the likelihood will be something that does not look realistic and is not functional.
I have no idea whether anal penetration is possible with a phalloplasty. I know one man who has told me that it is not, but that could just be his particular surgery.
You will have to ask a physician who performs these types of surgery and you will want to get something in writing to that effect.
Phalloplasties provide larger results than metaoidioplasties.
Metaoidioplasty:
The metaoidioplasty basically frees up the suspensory ligaments. The result depends on what changes testosterone has made to your body. Here's Dr. Meltzer's website that explains the procedure. http://www.tmeltzer.com/procedures/ftm.shtml#metoid
While he says that "The penis will not . . .[be] large enough for vaginal intercourse," this is not always the case. I have been able to vaginally penetrate my partner and to anally penetrate certain men who are not substantially overweight.
Different people have different experiences. You won't be able to measure yours by someone else's. Be sure to do plenty of research before settling on a procedure and/or a surgeon. I also recommend that you speak with a number of people who have gone to the same surgeon if you can. There are online groups that should allow you to start the search.
Best of luck,
Michael
