Question
Do you know how I can find out information about the legal requirements for my two cats – I am travelling from Vancouver, BC Canada to the Cayman Islands and moving my cats with me. However, we have to connect through Atlanta (it will be this August or September that we travel). I am bringing them onboard with me and have made sure I have all the documentation required to import them into Cayman, but I am not sure what the U.S.A. requires to bring them through en route.

They have up-to-date rabies vaccinations, health certificate, microchips and tattoos and their ticks and tapeworm shots.

Let me know if you need any more info. Thanks for any assistance you can provide,

Anna Wootton

Answer
Dear Anna
If you meet requirements for Cayman Islands, you will have more than
enough to enter and transit USA.  USA is probably the most easy
country in the world for pet entry and travel.  This may come as a
surprise as it can be so difficult for humans!!!
Just double check with the airline for any last minute requirements
they might have.  Afterall, they check ALL paperwork before
boarding.
Enjoy your travel
Jerry
