Question We are PCSing back to the US I am being told that there is a weight limit on 100lbs (combined weight of pet and kennel) I am flying on ANA and then on united airlins---I am getting conflicting answers from both airline---different agents at each airline have said yes the weith limit is 100 lbs nad then another agent (again from both airlines) have said that the weight limit on international flights is 150lbs---who is right? It is all so confussing, I am also getting conflicting answers from the SATO travle people too!
Answer When the airlines speak of weight limits, this is regarding bringing
the pet as excess baggage. They make their own rules....
You would NOT have a problem shipping the pet as cargo, but will be
much more expensive, of course.
With proper planning, the dog could be on the same plane with you
as cargo.
You must remember, the airline makes MUCH more money shipping the
pet as cargo than as ex bag. The dog flys in the very same place of
the plane.
