Subject: moving 3 cats from india to UK

Question
hi jerry,
we had been residing in the UK till july 2007, when we shifted to india. now we want to go back to UK and take our 3 adopted cats with us. the cats were born in UK and have been in India only for this one year. we want to take them without having to put them in quarantine. DEFRA people suggested that we may import them into other EU countires which do not have stringent restrictions and then import them to UK. how does this process work? what would be the time delay between importing them to other EU countries and re-importing them to the UK? what procedure do we have to foloow for this? we would be very grateful for your reply, as we can't find appropriate information.
thanks!

Answer

Sorry.  DEFRA rules.  You MUST satisfy their requirements.
You should visit:  www.ipata.com   Contact pet shippers in the EU
on the continent.  They will be your best resource.  Also, contact
some pet shippers within the UK for similar info.
There is nothing any pet shipper in USA can do.  You must deal with
someone who is actually on the scene.
Please let me know how this goes, then I can help the next person
better.
Regards, Jerry Mishler
