Question
QUESTION: Hi Jerry, I am finding it hard to find answers. We are relocating to Dhahran and would like to take our 2 dogs.
I got the health cert from the vet(USAD certified) form#7001. I mailed that form to Austin so the vet/USAD person could stamp it, sign it, approve it and 29 days later it was returned to me. I then mailed those forms(same day I got them back) to the Dept of the State in Washington so Condoleeza Rice could stap it and sign it, it was returned to me 28 days later. I then sent all the papers to the Saudi Consule and about 14 days later it was returned to me. I have called the USDA here in the Houston area and they are no help- actually said they do not have to talk to anyone shipping to Saudi. I have tried to call the  Saudi Consulate here in Houston, but no one will anwser the phone, and just leave message after message to call us back. The vet here in Pearland is no help, even though she is certifed as a USDA vet. The airline has been the most helpful, telling us that we had all the documentation needed. But now today someone is telling me that everything- all the paperwork has to be done within a 10 days period. I have called the relocation specialist where my husband is going to work and they do not know anything except what is in the relocation package.... do you have a site with detailed instrctions on how to ship a dog to saudi. Like shipping to Saudi for Dummies. I have relocated my dogs from Australlia, to Hawaii to Houston Texas ,but this is nuts and no one seems to know anything. And I know I read your answer to another client asking a question...they dont like dogs there. I know, but I do not have anyone to leave them with, and they are 10 and 9. Any information you may have and what are your thoughts on the pet relocation people? Thank you so much. Tracie- relocating from Houston texas to Dhahran.

QUESTION: Thanks Jerry
I will call the BKS pet shipping# right now. I had called the 281821-2244 and talked to a David Reed- who was very nice and funny, but he is the one who said the they do not have to help those of us moving to Saudi. He basiclly read from a manual what I needed to do, and it was line for line what was in the orientation/relocation guide, that my husbands new job had given us. But I am calling the other # now. Thanks again. Tracie

Answer
I find this weird that David would say they don't have to help????
Be sure to pursue Jane with this.  She should be able to help you
with either KLM or Lufthansa.
Those time elements that took for the paperwork.  Really weird.
Yes, usually the h.c. is only good for 10 days from the time your
vet signs.  I can't understand why usda took so long.
Jane is the best but I wanted to give you a couple options.
Avoid 3rd party shippers as they will rob you blind.....
Keep me posted
Jerry
