I live in Madrid, and travel frequently to Valencia. I have also travelled to many places all over spain, if haven't been there i'd try to help anyway providing my knowledge and links. I enjoy trekking in the mountains, and know pyrinees, Picos de Europa and mountains in the center.

Subject: Travel between Salamanca to Navarro

Question
We are thinking of driving from Salamanca to Navarro, in early August and, then,
on to Barcelona.  What can you tell us about distances, driving times, good place
to stop and rest, etc.

Answer
Hello Dan

Navarra is the name of a region in Spain, not an specific place. Navarro are the names of some small towns all over spain.

Considering you are travelling Salamanca-Pamplona this would be the route.

448km, 4h15, tolls between Burgos and Pamplona. All of the route by highways.
If you want to stop in some place to have lunch, i recommend Burgos where you can see one of the best cathedrals of Spain and as a medium size city, have many restaurants to choose.

If you want to add some other towns in your route i can give you more details.

From Pamplona to Barcelona:

488km, about 4h52 all by tolled highway. You could stop briefly in Zaragoza to see El Pilar basilica (there is an underground parking right by the square of the basilica and it's not difficult to get there by car) and have lunch in the city.

I think that given the distance and the fact that there are highways between these places, ther wouldn't be necessary to do overnight, except in Pamplona.

Another thing is if you want to explore the ares, i can give you some ideas of towns to visit, places of interest, that would mean leaving the highways and doing some km by conventional roads and adding some hours for each part of the travel.

i hope this helps.
