Question Bonjour. I would like to travel from Biarritz France to Madrid. To fly is expensive, is there a train?
Answer Hello Monique
there isn't any direct train to Madrid from Biarritz. But with two trains is not a bad option.
1-take a train (sncf) or bus to Irun.
2-From Irun take a train to Madrid.
Irun (spain)-Hendaya (france) are border towns and trains from spain may get to Hendaya and french trains may get to Irun, but you can't buy a ticket to Madrid from Hendaya, but from Irun. So you have to take an sncf train to Irun(spain) and there are three trains with Renfe to Madrid
train departure arrival
ALVIA 04086 08.15 13.53
INTERCITY 00202 14.20 21.20
ALVIA 00610 17.35 22.50
prices may vary depending on the date of the travel, but buying online and with some days in advance you may get some good discounts on the renfe website.

i hope this helps.
