Answer Hello Sadie
i couldn't find any place called 'hara' it could be something similar, and the name of an urbanization by the coast, there are many. There is also a tiny town called 'La xara' with many urbanizations near.
If it's the case (urbanization by the coast) public transport options will be few, probably a local bus to the nearest town, that could have or not train station.
In the border between Valencia and Alicante the train line is not right by the coast, many coastal towns don't have train or have the regional train (ver slow) that links Denia with Alicante. For many of these places, a long distance bus is the best option.
Tell me where exactly do you want to go in order to see if i can help with some more information or take a look at the spanish trains site

and one of the main bus operators

The hiring a car option looks also good, and more if you plan to travel around that area. You will have to develop how much cost tickets for 3 people vs hiring an small/medium size car (you will need an adapted chair for your child), also recommend diesel car with air-conditioned.
