Travel to Spain - Bus from Madrid to Toledo

Expert: Víctor Díaz - 6/16/2009

Question
I have looked on the internet and can only find a link to alsa.es offering a bus from Plaza Eliptica to Toledo. I can't find how to travel from Plaza Espana(near which I am staying) to Plaza Eliptica. There does not appear to be a way to do this on the metro (I looked at the madrid metro website). Please can you advise if the bus does leave from Plaza Eliptica (or if there is an alternative bus to use) and if so how to get to Plaza Eliptica from Plaza Espana. Thank you in advance.

Answer
Hello Cheryl

Only Alsa offers bus service between Madrid and Toledo.
The bus station for that line has moved recently to Plaza Eliptica new underground bus+metro station.

Plaza Eliptica is a metro station that belongs to L6 and L11 of metro
http://www.metromadrid.es/es/index.html

Currently there are some works on L6 and Plaza Eliptca is only served by L11 and alteranative bus service from Legazpi to Carptana offered to metro users (no need to buy a different ticket, the metro ticket is valid)

Currently and until 10/7 to get to Plaza Eliptica from Plaza de España
use L3 to Legazpi, then special service (normally marked as SE in fact is SE737) buses to Plaza Eliptica.

I hope this helps.
