I live in Madrid, and travel frequently to Valencia. I have also travelled to many places all over spain, if haven't been there i'd try to help anyway providing my knowledge and links. I enjoy trekking in the mountains, and know pyrinees, Picos de Europa and mountains in the center.

Question
Hi, Many Thanks for your nice volunteer job.
I have a 21 eurail pass and if Bus is necessary we can try that too..BUT HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE.

'1. How do I get to Bilbao from Lourdes
2. How do I get to Bilbao and San Sebastian from Biarritz.

Answer
Hello Nimia

By train should be via Hendaya/Irun border towns. From Lourdes to Irun with SNCF trains and then using Spanish trains Renfe to San Sebastian (called Donostia in basque) The same applies from Biarritz.

Irun-San Sebastian by train with Renfe takes 15minutes aprox.

Irun-Bilbao there is not a direct connection by train and involves doing a lot of km. I recommend buses instead for this trip.

Notice that at the SNCF you can choose Irun (spain) as destination, and at the Renfe site you can choose Hendaye/Hendaya(France) as destination. Renfe don't allow Hendaye as origin of any route.

Alternative to bus, but Railpass is not valid probably is regional trains Euskotren

Line Zumaia-Hendaya with stop at Donostia, takes more than 30 minutes from Donostia to Hendaya or Irun.

Line Bilbao-Donostia takes at least 2hours, i think it is too slow
on working days

on saturdays, sundays and holidays

Bilbao bus station

By bus from Irun or Donostia with  Pesa
http://www.pesa.net/pesa/home/ctrl_index.php
takes 1h10 Donostia-Bilbao
there are also Biarritz-Bilbao in 3hours

and Alsa do San Sebastian/Donostia to Bilbao too
http://www.alsa.es

So i recommend
1-Train or bus to Irun, then bus to Bilbao

2-to Bilbao direct bus with Pesa if it fits your schdule or train to Irun and then bus to Bilbao
2-to SSeb. direct bus with Pesa or train to Irun and then another train with Renfe.

I hope this helps
