I live in Madrid, and travel frequently to Valencia. I have also travelled to many places all over spain, if haven't been there i'd try to help anyway providing my knowledge and links. I enjoy trekking in the mountains, and know pyrinees, Picos de Europa and mountains in the center.

Question
Hi!
It would be nice if you could help me. I need to travel from Santiago de Compostela Airport to Ferrol (and back) and I really don´t know how to do.
Thank You
Sarah

Answer
Hello Sarah

I think there is no direct connection with Ferrol from Santiago airport and you need to get there via La Coruña/A Coruña or via Santiago.

This link show the bus connections in the Santiago airport
http://www.aena.es/csee/Satellite?Language=EN_GB&MO=1&SMO=1&SiteName=SCQ&c=Page&...

Looks like there are a lot of buses to Santiago and only a couple to A Coruña, so getting to Ferrol via Santiago will be easier.

There are a couple of lines with Freire bus company, one regular airport-Santiago with several stops, including one at the bus station and another near train station

http://www.empresafreire.com/html/ingles/seccion3b.htm

and another line wich is synchornized with Ryanair flights

(notice that this web pages works with Internet Explorer navigator and not with FF)

The second part of the route is getting to Ferrol from Santiago  bus station or train station.

By train with Renfe
There are no direct trains
http://www.renfe.es/

with the english version you can search all the trains and connections.
http://www.renfe.es/horarios/english/index.html
set origin ="santiago de compostela"
set destination="ferrol"
click 'search' then click on 'buscar trasbordo' to find connections to get to Ferrol via A Coruña. There are many trains, the time taken may vary a lot depending on how much time you will be waiting in A Coruña for a second train to Ferrol.

By bus.
information of bus conenections from Santiago
http://www.santiagoturismo.com/llegar/autobus.asp?&inc=&ruta=

bus company Monbus
http://www.monbus.es/index2.htm

site is in spanish only
to see the schedules click on 'horarios'
then in the new window choose 'santiago de compostela'then choose 'ferrol' as destination and select the date.

Looks like it takes 1hr, but depends on the line chosen.

May be bus are a better option but it depends on the date of your travel and hours of your arrival and departure from Santiago.

I hope this helps.
