Traveling with Children - child travelling to France with aunt

Expert: Natalia Ippolito - 8/29/2008

Question
Hi,
My daughter is travelling to France with her aunt.  Does she need a notarized consent form?  What other forms does she need?  What other safety precautions do you recommend?

Answer
Hi Michelle,

Go to this website:

http://www.lawdepot.com/contracts/consent/index.php?pid=google-consnt_us-test_c-...

This is a travel consent form from www.lawdepot.com.  Yes, you must notarize the document to avoid any delays or hassles at borders.

Passport Info:
http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/first/first_830.html

Travel abroad info:
http://travel.state.gov/travel/travel_1744.html

I would also register each passenger with the Department of State.

I would give your Aunt any perscriptions the child may need and any emergency instructions in french.

Happy and Safe Travels!
