Question
Hi,

I am currently in Germany for a short business trip and I am with my wife and 9 year-old kid. We are form the Philippines. Now a friend asked us if we can accompany her 7-year-old daughter as she booked her on the same flight we are taking. But my wife is not comfortable with the idea since it might cause some complications and we might not be allowed to leave. I tried to do a research on the internet about German laws and the requirements so we can be ensured that there will be no problems when we leave. Do you know what requirements we need to check with this friend? Or do you advise this?

Answer
I am sorry but I am not familiar with German laws.  I know it is okay for a US Citizen to travel outside of the US with a document that was signed by both parents and notarized.  I would suggest that you contact the US Embassy in Germany and see if they can give you any advice.

Pam
