Question
I cut open an apple and found two seeds that had germinated. These are now planted in tiny pots in dirt (with part of the apple core) and are about 1" high. I am in Southwestern Wyoming so I can't plant these outside for several months. Is there a way to keep care of them in the house until spring? I don't expect edible fruit from these, but it's fun for my grandson and me. Any help you give will be appreciated!

I would not keep them in the house--the low humidity and the heat will not be good fro them. keep them in a garage where the temperature is lower and air more humid. Not really much that needs to be done to them during the winter except not letting the soil dry out. The soil does not need to be wet but if the top layer of soil starts to dry add a little water to just moisten the soil so the roots will not dry out. Next Spring after the last frost put the pots outside in the shade. Next spring when they out grow the pots they are in transplant them into large pots and when the seedlings get to be about 12 inches tall they can be transplanted to the ground.
