Question Hi Howard. On my 79 spitfre I removed some of the bolts holding the body to the Frame. I expected to find some rubber dougnuts or large rubber washers between the frame and body for isolation. There were only flat metal washers. Is this correct or is there suppose to be rubber isolators washers between the frame and body. The catalogs I'be looked in such as Moss or Roster Factory don't specifically say if these spacers are rubber or metal. I think there are six or eight bolts / spacers attaching the body to the frame.
thanks,
jim
Answer Hi Jim,
I think Moss and TRF have a mounting kit available but I believe the spacers are metal. I have not had a body off the frame and the few I have seen off were 30 years ago. Moss has a tech line for their customers so you may ask them on the spacer locations. I got this question before but was unable to find the answer in any of my manuals.
