Question
For restoration, Did triumph used the body color paint on under carrige from factory?  If the car is factory green, would the under carrige be painted green as well?

Paul

Answer
Hi Paul,
As I remember all of the frames were black and only body pieces were the color of the car. They were painted separately then assembled so looking at a new car from the underside on a green car you would see every part of the body, floor and wheel wells all green and the "X" shaped frame all black. If a dealer had an option of undercoat, then the wheel wells would probably be black too but the factory supplied them painted. I don't have anything in writing but that is how I remember them. You could scan the net for the Triumph Registry as they usually have data on details of Triumphs.
Howard
