Question Hello Mr. Murray,
My name is Danielle, I'm from the netherlands.
I have a trombone and i'm trying to find out it's history.
I was hoping you can help me?
It says on the horn:
F. Besson
Prevete
sgdg
Paris
*
66 hautes recompenses
6 grand prix
hors concours
membre du jury
made in france
96577
This trombone has such a different way of putting the horn and the other part together, i have never seen that with other trombones.
I hope you can tell me more about this one.
Hope to hear from you soon.
With kind regards
Danielle Jansen
Answer Hi Danielle,
According to one list I looked at, your trombone was made around 1911. I found another on this site: http://www.horn-u-copia.net/cgi-bin/yabb231/YaBB.pl?num=1109296936 and the owner is in Hilversum, so perhaps you can contact them to get more information.
Good luck,
Colin Murray
