About Brad Anderson Expertise I can answer most questions dealing with Trombone pedagogy and performance. If I do not know the answer to a question myself, I have a number of colleagues I can consult. I can also answer most questions about learning or teaching most brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments up to an intermediate level.
Experience I have a Bachelor of Music Education degree, a Master of Music degree in Trombone performance, and nine years teaching experience as a band director. I have taught students ranging from fifth grade through college level. I have also worked in an instrument repair shop, so I have experience in maintenance and repair techniques for all band instruments as well.
Question Hi, Brad - Your good work on behalf of trombonists is greatly appreciated. I have an Olds Ambassador/Fullerton with the number 831 stamped on the right side of the slide grip. You advised Mike that this is a manufacturing number, not a serial number. I have been unsuccessful locating the Serial Number -- any suggestions?
Many thanks,
Jim
Answer Jim,
Pretty hard to tell without seeing the horn. Look around the edges of all the braces, and look near the screw that holds the slide to the bell. Sorry, I don't have my Olds with me right now to compare. It's gotta be there somewhere.
