Tropical Plants/palms fonds healthy green snapping off

Question
I have healthy looking fonds snap off.  Now I am seeing that they have been chewed and weakened. I was born in Florida and have never seen this in my 60 years. X-mas palms (adonidia?)
I found another original post (2008) describing similar problem.  Will take photos.

Answer
Try to take a close up of the "chew marks", and of the Palm itself from the Heart up into the crown, to see if there is an stress on the Palm itself. Nick....in the mean time...my guess is Squirrels if done in the daytime and Roof Rats or Quaker Parrots if done at night
