Question
For the past few days our truck has been a little sluggish to start.  Now today it suddenly won't idle.  Runs fine if you keep RPM's up but when you let off the gas to slow down, stop or shift it will die.  Any ideas?

Answer
Hello Lora,
Two ideas.
First find the idle air control valve in the throttle body, and clean it with carb/PCV valve cleaner.
Next, find the EGR valve, and clean it, making sure the pintle isn't closed on some carbon.

Next, look for any possible vacuum leaks...loose or leaking hose etc.

Then make sure the fuel pressure is correct, although if it runs good off idle, that is probably ok.

Oops...that's more than two, but check them all.
