Truck Repair - freighliner n-14 eng. code problem

Expert: Waheed Shittu - 5/4/2009

Question
the trk. is 2000 cimmins n-14 and a code is apper # 141 and don't want to start the eng.

Answer
Code 141 is an oil pressure sensor fault. Often this occurs at starting if oil level is low or oil quality is impinged upon. No oil pressure protection for engine. Confirm oil level ok and Check that this is the only fault code. If there are multiple codes, you need to clear the faults as they may be inactive. It is possible to clear multiple fault codes by depressing the throttle pedal 3 times, and then read the fault codes. If fault still present, contact a repair garage where "insite" or compulink can be used to troubleshoot and clear the fault
