Truck Repair - Freightliner Chassis Radiator Removal

Expert: Waheed Shittu - 6/4/2009

Question
How is the radiator removed from a 2000 Fleetwood Discovery Motorhome w/ Cummins 275hp, 24 valve, 5.9L engine on Frghtlnr Chassis.  Nothing in owner's manual.  Nothing on Frghtlnr & Cummins websites.  Nothing on Google hits.  Thanks

Answer
I hope I can offer you some tips to help in removing the radiator since I don't have the Fleetwood model.
1. Check and confirm radiator seat or mounting position. Usually, they come in studs or special bracket for holding the radiator to the frame.
2. If the intercooler is fitted in front or rear of radiator, this need to be verified.
3. Inlet/outlet hoses need to be removed
4. Any other supporting brackets need to be removed as well.

Best Regards,
