Truck Repair - 2002 dodge ram problem

Expert: Waheed Shittu - 7/27/2009

Question
I have a 2002 dodge ram 6 speed diesel truck.  When I'm driving it, it stalls on hiway if I accelerate my foot is down to the floor and it doesnt speed up.  The rpms drop.  Same problem also with decelleration.  I've replaced the fuel pump that is 300$ Appreciate an answer.

Answer
If your throttle  control is electric, you may have to check the acceleration sensor fitted beside or at the bottom of the accelerator pedal. Check that the harness is in position and further check that both the resistance and voltage are ok. if however it is a mechanical throttle, then have the linkage checked by a mechanic up to the throttle control on your injection pump or carburettor as the case may be.

Hope you find the above useful
