Question
Dear Andy

Do you feel a person Who knows
to drive car well will also be
be able to drive Heavy vehicles
without taking any formal training?.

Thanks & regards
Prashant s akerkar

Answer
The ability to drive a passenger car well is not an indicator that they could get into a large vehicle and drive off with no training.   Anyone who wants to start driving large vehicles needs training on how the truck functions ( air brakes system) not to mention its additional height, width and length.  When you get into a combination truck/ trailer combination , a person absolutely will need to practice.  A single truck is not quite as hard to pick up the ability to drive.

Putting an untrained or little trained person at the controls of a large truck is an accident waiting to happen.
