Trucking - Fuel Taxes

Expert: J. P. Long - 5/16/2007

Question
I am about to sign on with a company as a lease operator that is based out of Utah using their authority and they offer us the opportunity to file our fuel taxes.  I would like to know if you can share with me how to file my own fuel taxes to save on the extra expense.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Khari, I do fuel tax reporting for several companies and drivers. web site: longdataser.com   You will need to get a fuel permit in your name from your home state. Then you keep track of you fuel tickets as you buy fuel in each state, Keep record of miles in each state. Report is due each 3 months. Let me know if I may be of service.  J P Long
