Trumpet - Blessing Super Artist Trumpet

Question
I own a Blessing Super Artist Trumpet, bought new in December 1971 for $350. It is in good condition except for flaking of the lacquer and a few dents on the bell. The serial number is 179584.
How much would this trumpet be worth now? Do you recommend refurbishing and re-plating? Where can this be done and what would be the cost? I'm still using the original case.

Hi Anthony,

I would not recommending re-plating the instrument as it is in good condition. If you are interested in such things; however, www.doctorvalve.com might be a better resource given that you are in the Bahamas. The Blessing Super Artist Trumpet is a premier line from Blessing of its day. Since you feel that it is in good condition you can get at least $750+ for it. I did check some auctions sites like Ebay, where some well kept instruments of that caliber sell for $1500+. Good Luck.
