AboutVikrant Singh Badwal Expertise I can answer question about trumpet playing techniques and general musicianmanship. I have great insight on the characteristics of good trumpet playing. I can answer questions that cover good tone, expanding range, sustaining endurance, and breakdown practice techniques. I can also answer questions about trumpet maintenance and small repairs applicable to brass instrumentation. I can also discuss general brass playing techniques. Since, I recently graduated from college, I am not able to answer questions that are in the post-university level of this genre.

Question Hey, I'm a Junior in high school and I have a Bach Strad. Most of the silver around my valves is gone and I want to get it refinished. At the most, how much would that cost? (It's a model 25)
Answer Hi Claire,
I know that replating/relaquering an entire trumpet is somewhere between $500 to $800. I am not sure what the going rate is for just the valves. I would suggest leaving it alone and decide later when most of the lacquer on the horn is gone.
