Trumpet - used trumpet

Question
I just received a trumpet on freecycle for my son who is on his 4th year of school band.  He is going into 7th grade and still enjoys playing and we came across this free Bundy Trumpet serial A71261.  designed by Vincent Bach.  I was wondering if it is an ok trumpet for him and what we need to look for as in condition.  It has some dents although not large ones.  It also has a little dullness in some areas but the valves are all smooth when you push them. I know nothing about trumpets but would love to know anything about this one if you can.

Answer
Lorrie, The Bundy was the starting horn for students in the Selmer/Bach line. They are solid and play pretty well for a beginner. If he is in his fourth year he will need a better horn than this in a year or two. Until then he could use it but I would have it chem cleaned and new felts and corks done first.
