Question I have a relative who has passed away and he had a living trust/will with his partner. His partner is named the survivor of all his assets but he has just asked me for my SSN. What would be the purpose(s) for needing my SSN?
Answer Perhaps you are a named beneficiary and don't know it. But why ask me??? Ask the person who is asking you. I wouldn't give my social security number to anyone, but if someone is trying to give you an inheritance it might be worth the trouble.
