Turkey - Work in Bodrum

Expert: Ruth Lockwood - 10/23/2009

Question
Hi there, I am Malaysian and getting married in Bodrum soon with a Turkish citizen. I am a degree holder, and I speak fluent English, Malay, Chinese. How can I get a teaching job in Bodrum? thanks

Answer
Hi Sue ,
I get so many inquiries for foreigners who are looking for work so you should also look at some of my earlier posts for thorough details . All foreigners do need work permmits to work legally in Turkey and the government is getting stricter in checking foreigners for those permits . To teach English you can either do so with private clients and advertise in Bodrum itself or check out local schools that may require English teachers . A good school may well help you aquire a working permit. Also you can look on vaious website like www.turkeycentral.com or www.mymerhaba.com which are bothj websites that help expats with imnfo re Turkey . There are members that are listed for Bodrum and they may be abşle to help you with more specific school names or suggestions .
Good Luck and best wishes for your forthcoming weddding ,
Ruth
