Question
Hello,
a friend of mine for over 3 years wants to come visit me on holiday in the USA. i know it is very hard for anyone in turkey to get a visa and they require proof of a connection with the person they are visiting to get a tourist visa. i am curious as to what kind of proof i can provide to make the process easier on him coming and visiting me for a week? and just the process in general so i can better understand how as a friend i can help him in anyway i can.

thank you so much for your time
Jessica

Answer
Dear Jessica,
Visas to the USA are normally very hard to get for Turkish nationals as they have a long history of overstaying or not coming back . All the info you and your friend will need is on the USA embassy / Ankara website in both Turkish and English . The most important thing that you need to prove is that he will be returning to Turkey and has enough motivation to do so .ie a good job , family committments , property etc.The better and more thorough hids paperwork and proof the better so he should get someone to check it all .
Still my business partner had all of that plus huge connections and recommendations from American people in the USA as well as Turkey and still got refused . Sometimes its arbitrary as to who gets a visa and who doesnt . He needs to be fairly sure that he will get it as there is an non refunable application fee.
Good Luck with all of this as I know from personal experience that its not easy .
