Question
Hi Murat,

I have read a few of your answers and find them very useful. I will be arriving Turkey from the Greek islands after visiting Mykonos and Santorini. While I am in Turkey from 12th - 19th I would like to visit Selcuk, Efes, Pamukalle and cappadocia and the last stop in Istanbul, as I will join a tour on the 19th July in Istanbul. Here are few of questions I have.

1. Are there any ferries to Samos island from either Mykonos or Santorini?
2. Is Samos island the best place to get the ferries to from either Mykonos or Santorini for those places that I like to visit on Turkey?
3. How easy is it to get from Samos island to Selcuk?
4. How easy is it to get from Kos to Bodrum and from Bodrum to Selcuk? Can you direct me to some ferries websites?
5. How easy is it to get from Pamukalle to Cappadocia? Would you advise on means of transport, including overnight bus and suggested companies for buses and flights?
6. This is what I think I am going to do, would you advise whether it's doable or not and any suggestions would be highly appreciated. If there are no ferries to Samos island from either Santorini or Mykonos, then I will get into Kos -> Bodrum, Bodrum to Selcuk and while I am in Selcuk I will visit Efes and then Travel from Selcuk or Efes ->  Pamukalle, then overnight train Pamukalle -> Cappadocia ( can't seem to find where the overnight bus arrival destination ??) I think I will fly from Kayseria to Istanbul and spend at least 2 nights in Istanbul,
a. Do you think I have enough time?
b. If I caught overnight bus from Pamukalle, will I arrive in Cappadocia in time for hot air balloon in the morning?
c. Where does the overnight bus arrive into in Cappadocia? and with what company?
7. How easy is it to get from a. Pamukalle to Olympos?
b. Pamukalle to Istanbul?

Thank you so much and look forward to your advice.

Cheers Sue

Answer
Hello Sue,

Your questions and itinerary a bit complex to answer from here and I would suggest to get a bit of professional help.

Santorini and Mykonos are my favorites too.....

From Mykonos you can take an overnight ferry to Samos via Paros.
From Samos daily 08:30 and 16:30 ferries available to Kusadasi and midibuses from Kusadasi to Selcuk.

Santorini to Rhodos by small planes and Mykonos Santorini with small planes are also possible.

Kos to Bodrum and Bodrum to Selcuk there are buses regularly.

Night buses are available from Pamukklae to Cappadocia or vise versa. 10 11 hours bus ride!

I would base myself at Selcuk and visit Pamukkale and take a direct flight to Kayseri from Izmir if budget allows, 3 times weekly flights are available.

Pamukkale to Olympos buses should be available, but I am not so certain about direct or inderect.

Metro Turizm, Pamukkale Turizm, Nevsehir Turizm bus companies runs Izmir, Pamukklae and Cappadocia route. Pamukkale may run Pamukkale to Antalya and probably Olympos.

I would stick to Ephesus, Pamukkale, Cappadocia and Istanbul only, adding Olympos will run you out of time for sure.

I would not take risk to take a bus overnight and try to catch early morning ballooning ! Better arrive, tour around stay overnight fly next morning hot air balloon and leave to Istanbul from Nevsehir to Istanbul noon flight.

Further information you can contact sonay@travelatelier she will be able to book your ferry, hot air balloon and flights and give time info on most of the buses.

I am also using travel agents for ferry tickets when I am in Greece or when I will leave Turkey with ferry as I am not very keen online ferry web sites.

Good luck and enjoy your holiday,

Murat
