Turkey - Datca

Question
I am about to travel to Datca for 3.5weeks with my 5year old son.  Will it be easy to get there and return from Dalaman Airport, or should I just pay 100euros for the taxi?  What is the local transport like?

Answer
Dear Tyler ,
My apologies as aI am not really able to answer your question as I live some 14 hrs from Datca. I am sure however with tourism as developed as it is these days that many companies run a local service bus from the Dalaman airport to at least Marmaris if not Datca. From Marmaris its very easy and cheap to take a local bus to Datca and it takes around 1 - 2 hrs for the journey.
The problem I guess is what time you may be arriving at Dalaman airport.  If its too late then of course it will be endlessly difficult becuase of the time involved for transfers and connections but if your flight is a morning flight it should be easily sorted on arrival .
Why not contact the hotel that you are staying in at Datca and see if they have a service bus or an airport pick up as so many hotels do.Usually they will also be very helpful in giving you local transport options .
If you havent booked a hotel for your first night it may be wise to do so and then you can take advantage of anyt special arrangements they may offer.
Sorry I cant be more precise but I live in the middle of Turkey not on the coast so therefore am unable to give you exact details of bus times and distances.my apologies but usually in Turkey transport is one of the easiest things to arrange.
Have a good trip
