I will be visiting Istanbul in July. On the 27th I plan to fly into Izmir taking the 8:30 flight and then hoping to see Ephesus before going to Kusadasi to board the 5pm ferry to Samos, Greece. Do you think this is do-able? Please comment.

YES IT IS VERY POSSIBLE. WHAT YOU NEED TO DO FIRST IS TO GO TO EPHESUS THERE IS A TRAIN FROM AIRPORT TO selcuk TOWN FIRST CHECK THE TIME OF IT IF NOT POSSIBLE THERE IS BUS FROM AIRPORT TO BUS TERMINAL
THEN FROM THERE YOU CAN TAKE BUS TO SELCUK . HIRE A TAXI FROM THERE TO ePHESUS UPPER ENTRANCE MAY COST 10 TL  THEN WHEN YOU FINISH AT THE LOVER GATE TAKE MINIBUS (DOLMUS) TO KUSADASI BUSTERMINAL FROM THERE TAKE ANOTHER DOMUS TO PORT (BUS NAME LADIES BEACH).
