Question
My mother is planning to live in Turkey with her new turkish husband.  She is 62 years old and only has a small state pension.  I am very worried about how she will survive in Turkey and what insurance and medical care will be available to her on a very small budget. Does anyone know what the costs are for this type of cover and will she receive any state medical care or funding?  Any answers would be grateful. Thanks.

Answer
Hi Marie,

Your question is out of my expertise area. But i wish to help you as far as i can. As far as i know, If your country's social security instution has aggreement with Turkey's social security instution, your mother can use full state medical care in Turkey. You can check at below given link;

http://www.sgk.gov.tr/wps/portal/en

And i found the list of the countries which have social security aggreement with Turkey (Unfortunately this page only in Turkish, but flags used so you can check it):

http://www.sgk.gov.tr/wps/portal/Anasayfa/Ulkeler

Last link also includes aggreements in Turkish, but i believe you can reach that aggreement from the web page of your country's social security instute.

Hope my answer helps you.
Best wishes
