Question
Hi We are wanting to holiday in Turkey for two weeks.  Most important I have two boys 9 and 12 years of age.  We will fly into Istanbul from America.  Would like to stay a couple of night there and then work our way to the Mediterranean side.  What would you rec at this point.  Some sight seeing that the boys would find interesting and were in the Mediterranean would you recommend.  Could we stay at one place or do we need to move around?  Is Ephesus  worth going to.  The kids love the beach!  We would be traveling in June

Please advise.

Answer
Hi Kirsten,
If you have two weeks, I would suggest following;

Exploer Istanbul few days than add Cappadocia to your itinerary, kids will also love this terrain of interesting region, than move down to Mediterranean coast stay at one or two places like Olympos, Kas or Kalkan than drive Kusadasi for Ephesus and yes it is worth visiting as an impressive site of all times of ancient civilisations. Excavations are ongoing over 150 years.

Than fly back to Istanbul and next day fly back home.

If you need professional assistance for arrangements than contact sonay(@)travelatelier.com or me directly murat(@)travelatelier.com

PS: you may also consider 3-4 days Gulet ( Turkish traditional wooden yachts ) cruise which would be a nice addition to your plans.

Have a great time in Turkey,
