Question
hi i was in turkey and met a turkish friend and want him to come over here and visit but he asked me to send him a invitation but im not sure what it is and what to write on it can u help?

Answer
Dear Natalie,

The British Consulate likes to be as sure as possible that visitors from Turkey actually have a place to stay and someone who will be responsible for them while they are in the UK.
You should write a letter explaining that you are inviting your friend to stay with you between (date of arrival) and (date of departure) and that you accept to be his contact during this period. You might like to add the purpose of the visit, for example, do you intend to travel around, are you returning hospitality shown to you in Turkey? If you work, will you be taking time off so that you can show him around? It doesn't need to be a long letter but do make sure your full contact details are clear and that it is signed in case they want to contact you.

Regards,
Victoria
