Question
do all turtles know how to swim?
Hello Jasmin,
No, not exactly all of them. There's three different kinds of turtles, or testudines as they're also called:
-Terrapins
-Tortoises
-Sea turtles
Terrapins (Lives, both in water and on land) and Sea turtles (Lives only in water) knows how to swim. Tortoises on the other hand, lives only on land and therefor, they not know how to swim. The best way to see the difference between them and the reason why the can/can't swim, is by looking at their feets.
