Expert: Mark Adkins Date: 7/17/2008 Subject: turtle for outdoor pond
Question I'd live in Santa Cruz foothills and would like to get a native turtle for our
outdoor man-made pond. What type would you recommend? Western Pond
Turtle? How do I protect it from predators or do I? Are turtles compatible with
Pacific treefrogs or will they eat them. What do turtles eat?
Answer I've never kept a turtle in an outdoor pond, and am not familiar enough with your local turtles to suggest anything.
What I CAN do is point you to a bunch of experienced keepers who can easily answer this for you- http://www.turtleforum.com
