AboutElayne Glantzberg Expertise I can answer questions on PCOS, Clomid, spontaneous reduction, preterm labor, severe prematurity, micropreemies, NICU, how to raise triplets without outside help, life with triplets and more, cerebral palsy, visual impairments, Asperger's/autism, and breastfeeding.
Experience I have bgg triplets born in 1999 and three more boys born in 2002, 2006, and 2008, the last two by VBA2C (vaginal birth after 2 cesareans). My triplets were born at 26 weeks. My singletons were all full-term and fully breastfed. We have raised our triplets with no help and with a blind father. One of our triplets is also disabled with mild CP and mild autism, two have some vision problems, and one has had lung issues since birth.
Question I am 37 weeks 2 days pregnant today, I was told that i have fibroid when i went for Ultra Sound in my 22nd weeks of pregnancy. Last week I had another ultrasound and was told that my baby is now in head down position and the fibroid is 6cm. I have been reading a lot about fibroid from the Internet and have also heard from lots of expectant mother about the danger of fibroid to baby. Please tell me is it something i should worry about. I really want to have a healthy baby.
Answer Generally the presence of a fibroid during pregnancy is not a problem. It is normal for the fibroid to grow somewhat during the pregnancy due to the effect of hormones, but because the fibroid is outside the uterus, it usually does not create any kind of obstruction to the delivery.
