Question
how did colonists fish in the 1700s

Answer
Hi Dave,

Most fishing was done the same what it has been done for thousands of years.  Ships would go out on the water, cast a large net, and scoop up the fish into the boat.  Individuals also fished with a fishing rod and fish hook much like people do today.

I hope this helps!
