U.S. History/Question

Some token payments were made, as well as treaties. All of the treaties were broken by the colonists and later Americans, and a campaign of Ethnic Cleansing began at Jamestown in the 1600's and ended at Wounded Knee in the 1890's. The tribe to come in contact with the Jamestown colonists ceased to exist within 4 years. It was a subtribe under the Powatan Confederation. That set the pattern and the genocide of the American Indian followed. One of the main motivations for the Rev. War against Great Britain was access to the lands West of the Alleghenies. The Americans won the war, extended themselves beyond the Alleghenies, and began their campaign of broken treaties and extermination of the Native Americans.

I can answer just about any question on early American History. My specialties are the American Revolution through the Civil War/Reconstruction. I also have greater expertise in matters relating to military, political or legal history.

I have lectured at George Washington University regarding the Civil War, as well as several elementary school Civil War demonstrations. I was also a member of a Civil War reenactment group for about 10 years.
